Kapa Haka 2017

Here we are back again ready for another huge year with our Ashley School kapa haka group.

Our group began in early February with just over 80 students ranging right across the school from Year 1 to Year 8. It is great to have our tutors Matua Maaka, Matua Norm and Whaea Michelle coming back in to school to work with us each Monday morning between 9.30am and 10.30am. If you would like to come and learn a waiata or see how our group works, you are most welcome to come and visit.

This year we have again committed to being a part of the Christchurch Primary Schools Cultural Festival which is going to be held between the 14th and 18th of August at the Horncastle Arena. Maaka has already started work with us on our programme for the festival, which sounds fabulous. Some great waiata and a new haka.
