Here we are back again into another great year for our kapa haka group. We have Matua Maaka and Matua Norm working with our students again and this year our group is just over 80 strong. A factor this year is the wonderful sound and passion that is coming from our senior boys. This is a real treat and something to look forward to. We will be involved in the Christchurch Primary Schools Cultural festival again, to be held at the Horncastle Arena between 3rd and 7th September.

The theme for this years festival is ‘ Whiria te tangata‘ – Weaving people together. 

Here is our new school karakia for 2018. It has a wonderful message.

Allow one’s spirit to exercise its potential

To guide us in our work as well as in our pursuit of our ancestral traditions

Take hold and preserve it
Ensure it is never lost
Hold fast.
Secure it.
Draw together! Affirm!
